Dear Drum Dancers old and new,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Dance! It is the SIXTH annual Drum Dance to be held on Felicity and Andrew Macdonald´s sitio in Extrema, Minas Gerais (150 kms de Sao Paulo) The Drum Dance came to Beautiful Painted Arrow, Joseph Rael, in a vision; it is a dance for world peace, for personal achievement, and insight into spiritual reality. This year will be the sixth year in the cycle of the six year commitment to the dance.

The Dance begins on Friday 26th Septembe,nearly,at sundown, at which time we go into silence and fasting. While dancing forwards, we honor future generations, and when dancing backwards, we honor past generations. We shall dance into the evening and then rest for the night. The Dance will resume on Saturday at sunrise, with alternating dancing and rest periods throughout the day and into the evening. The Dance will end sometime on Sunday morning, and will be followed by a feast.

Over the years hundreds of men and women from around the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Australia have formed a special family dedicated to this dance. Please join us as we move once again to the drum, pushing ourselves beyond what we thought possible, experiencing the joy and pain of life itself. Here we try to eliminate the filters and veils that keep us from glimpsing a “greater”,” deeper” Reality. There are no words to describe what you will encounter; only you can make the decision to bring your Self to the field for a weekend that may change your life.

In 1997, when Joseph Rael retired, he passed the leadership of the dances to some of his long- time dancers, including Tom and Kristen Bissinger, from Pennsyvania who led our Drum Dance in Brazil for 4 years, and Felicity, who is leading the dance as from last year.

If you would like we can possibly arrange accommadation with other Brazilian dancers at around US30.- per day, for the days before and after the dance. This would include bed, pot luck meals with the family and transport to and from the dance. Other transport and any sightseeing and touring would be for your own account or arranged separately with the family.

Registration at the site is 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. on Friday,26th September. There will be orientation and discussion and time to set up for the dance. there is a sweat lodge that afternoon for the dancers and drummers. It is important that every dancer take part in the lodge and be at the site in plenty of time.

The Dance lives because we continue to tell others about it and encourage them to enroll, it may change their lives, and it will surely keep the life blood of the drum dance flowing on Mother Earth.
